Welcome to the 2020 season!

Hello HXC Community,
I just wanted to take a minute to welcome everyone to the 2020 cross country season! With our season starting on Tuesday, I wanted to go over a few housecleaning items. For the first week, we will meet on the outdoor basketball court. After the first week, we will meet “down by the tree.” Practice will be daily from 3:45-5:15. If you are picking your athlete up from practice, we will walk back up from practice to the basketball courts around 5:10ish, so you don’t have to leave your car. All athletes will need a mask for the stretching and down time portion of practices. When running they will not have to wear the mask. This will not be a traditional season, but I’m confident and committed to making it a memorable one. Although our district has adopted an intramural model for middle school sports this year, our mindset will be anything but intramural. We are still going to practice, develop, and compete as if we are one the top programs in the state. Cross country is a sport where everyone can find success if they are willing to work. Through time trial and other competitions, we are going to bring out the best in our athletes and continue our tradition at Herget. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday! #runhxc #beelite
