Week 4
September 14, 2025
Hello HXC Community,
With the return of warm temperatures and two meets last week, our athletes were truly tested both mentally and physically. In cross country, it’s difficult to compare times across different courses due to variations in terrain and distance — something we reminded the team of, especially when times may not have been as fast as they hoped.
We also chose to maintain a full week of hard practice rather than easing up before the meets, with the goal of building strength and seeing the benefits later in the season as we head into our Saturday invitationals. Overall, it was a great week with lots of quality miles logged!
Looking ahead to this week:
We have just one meet — Wednesday at Washington — which gives us a great opportunity to focus on another strong week of training and increased mileage. With warm weather sticking around, please encourage your athletes to stay hydrated throughout the day and to come to practice prepared with water and appropriate clothing.
We’re also excited to announce our first theme day of the season!
Friday will be "Hawaiian Day" — a fun way to celebrate the summer weather. Athletes are encouraged to wear Hawaiian/beach-themed attire to practice, and we’ll cool down afterward with ice cream!
Thanks, as always, for your continued support. Looking forward to another great week!
