City week

Hello HXC Community,
We have a lot of information for the upcoming week, so please take a few minutes to read through everything.
First, we had another excellent race last Wednesday at Washington, with 17 more PRs earned! All of the results are posted on www.runhxc.com.
If you haven't already, take a look at where your athlete was about a month ago compared to Wednesday's race. Every runner has improved, and some athletes have dropped more than 8 minutes off their personal bests! We want to keep this momentum going as we head into the final week of our regular season.
A special shout-out to Diana Colon, who made all of our girls some awesome decorative hair ties to help show off our school spirit. Thank you, Diana!
Monday Meet – CANCELLED
Our meet in Oswego this coming Monday has been cancelled. Instead, we will use Monday to run a time trial on our home course, which will be great preparation for the City Meet on Saturday.
City Meet – Saturday
The City Meet is one that we take a lot of pride in, and HXC has had a great deal of success over the years.
Both teams will have an opportunity to compete for another championship this Saturday, and we're excited to see what everyone can do!

Remembering Megan
We would also like to start a new City Meet tradition this year by taking a team picture around “Megan's Bench.”
Megan Sporny was a key member of our 2017 State Championship team. She was the ultimate teammate and loved the team and family aspect of cross country just as much as she loved competing and winning. She still holds our course record to this day.
Megan was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and sadly passed away in 2023. In 2024, a bench was placed under “the tree” in her memory. When the tree fell during the storm in 2025, Megan's bench was the only thing in the area that went unharmed.
We would like to keep Megan's memory and legacy strong, and the City Meet was always one of her favorite meets. Taking a team picture around her bench will be a small way for us to remember someone who represented so much of what HXC is about — team, family, and competing for something bigger than yourself.
We're looking forward to a great week and an exciting City Meet!
