Welcome to the 2019 Season!

Hello HXC Community,
I just wanted to take a minute and welcome everyone to the 2019 season! Cross Country is a sport where ALL athletes can experience success and have a lot of fun along the way! In fact in my nine years of coaching, every athlete who has ran the first time trial of the season has improved on that time throughout the season. We stress the importance of doing the best “YOU “can do and not worrying about comparing yourself to others. We take great pride in building a “family environment” where everyone feels valued and respected on the team. That being said, we definitely challenge our athletes to get the most out of them. We have a proud tradition that has included our girls winning eight out of the last nine city titles and the 2017 I.E.S.A. State Championship. Our boys have won for straight city titles and were also 2017 I.E.S.A. State Champions. We believe firmly in dedication and hard work as the backbones to our program. We look forward to seeing if this group can carry on the proud tradition of HXC!

If you click on a meet, the location will pop up on a map. You can also access full meet results from the schedule tab. Individual results will be posted under the results tab. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the site. We also have team t-shirts for sale for anyone who is interested. The cost is $12. Please see myself or coach Butcher if you’d like one.
This upcoming week will be our first full week with athletes in school. Athletes should all be prepared for practice in proper running attire and bringing water with them daily. Please remind your athlete about the importance of staying hydrated throughout the day and not just before and during practice. On Sundays, I will send out our weekly email that recaps the previous week as well as previewing the upcoming one. Looking forward to a great season! #runhxc #beelite

WOW!! We have never had communication like this before with any of our Middle School Teams!! Thank you for all of the info on Nutrition,team history and culture of running at Herget. Love the #beelite. Thrilled my son chose to switch schools, attend Herget this Fall and run CC. Blessed by all of this and cannot wait to support these kids as they run hard this year!
