Hello HXC Community,
Coming off the long weekend, we got our first taste of competition by heading to Thompson Middle School for our first meet. It is what can be best described as a pretty boring, yet difficult course. Our team came out and competed well. We wanted our runners to race at their capabilities and not get caught up in the size of other teams or how fast the start of the race may be, and I thought we did that well! We followed up our first meet with two quality practices before our second time trial on Friday. It was nice to see more runners making it further than they ever have on our long runs and the “walks” are becoming a thing of the past. To improve in cross country, you need to get comfortable being uncomfortable, and our team is taking that to heart. All meet results are on www.runhxc.com and meet results are under the schedule tab.
This upcoming week we host our first meet on Tuesday and then Travel to Rotolo Middle School for a meet on Thursday. I expect to see our PR’s (personal records) really start to drop over the next few weeks! Looking forward to another great week with the group! #runhxc #beelite
