Week 4
September 10, 2022
Hello HXC Community,
Coming off a long weekend with a meet on Tuesday, we were a little nervous on how’d we perform without any hard practices in about week. Our teams competed well with our girls finishing 2nd and our boys placing 1st. We had a total of 14 season PR’s which was outstanding coming off a long weekend. Those PR’s include: Alie (12:36- 12th all-time), Ariana (22:58), Asher (11:23- 11th all-time), Ben (10:56- 6th all-time), Dominick (19:55), Ethan (13:49), Gavin (12:05), Lachlan 11:09- 9th all-time), Mia (13:16), Nolan (16:45), Olivia (22:52), Sofia (15:06), Teagan (12:51), and Timmy (18:30). Elite job to those who PR’d.
Thursday was a huge test against the biggest middle school in the state, Rotolo. The girls had a solid showing with 3 runners in the top 8, but finished second to Rotolo by a score of 23 to 38. Ours had a heartbreaker, losing by just one point to Rotolo by a score of 28 to 29. Although losing by a point is tough, I feel this is a good learning experience for our boys on just how valuable every runner is to the team. Who could have maybe passed just one more runner to make up that point? Hopefully we will remember this lesson and get the most out of our practices going forward to reach our lofty goals. Still, we were very pleased with our effort and ability to compete on a hot/humid day.
This upcoming week, we have our first invitational, Royal Cadet, on Tuesday at Marmion High School. Below is the meet info and will hand out on Monday. We also run at home on Thursday against Jewel, Jefferson, and Washington. Looking forward to another great week! #runhxc #beeltie
