Hello HXC Community,
Saturday was our first invite of the season, and our athletes came out and competed well! It’s hard to replicate the energy of a Saturday morning invite with weekday meets, so it was great to give our runners a taste of what “real” cross country is all about. Alejandro D. was the Conference Champion leading wire to wire. Maddy N. also medaled in the girl’s varsity race. Only a 6th grader, Maddy has quite the bright future! We also registered 7 season PR’s on Saturday. Congratulations to Aaliyah, Abril, Ethan, Guadalupe, Maren, and Timmie on those PR’s!! All times and results have been posted to www.runhxc.com
This upcoming week is city week! Our city meet is on Saturday and is one of the meets we most look forward to! Our girls have won 13 out of the last 14 city meets, and our boys have 8 out of the last 13. We are defending champions from last year, so we are hoping for some strong performances to keep the streak going! We will not take a bus to city, instead we will meet at Marmion (where the Royal Cadet was hosted). Girls Varsity will need to be there at 8:00, and everyone else will need to be there by 8:30.
