Hello HXC Community,
Heading into State Week, our qualifiers were confident and ready for one last opportunity to showcase their abilities. It was great to have some extra teammates this past week keep showing up to practice and help get our qualifiers ready! After four months of training it was time to put it on the line one last time.
Maddi Nagy- 64th Place (13:27) In only her first year of cross country, Maddi was a State Qualifier, which is a huge accomplishment! She ran a great race, and we are excited about what the next two years hold for Maddi!
Mia Kunio- 70th Place (13:30) Saturday was a bittersweet day for Mia as she ended her XC career at Herget. Although the result wasn’t what she was looking for, she gave it her all and competed well. Mia was a three time state qualifier for us and will go down as one of the most decorated athletes we’ve had.
Alejandro Delgado- 12th Place (11:14) Alejandro continued his magical season by placing 12th and earning All-State honors! This was Alejnadro’s first year of cross country, so he is just beginning to scratch the surface of what he’s capable of. We’re proud of all his accomplishments and look forward to seeing what he can do in high school.
Ethan Jenkins- 135th Place (12:35) Ethan had been really dropping his times these last few weeks, and we were excited to see him end his season among the states best. Ethan ran a solid race, and he can build on his performance as he’s only in 7th grade. We hope to see him back down at state next year!
With the conclusion of the boys race, the 2023 season had officially come to an end. It’s always a little bittersweet to end a season as each season is unique and provides its own unique memories. Please encourage your athlete to join our track team in the spring and get involved in our endurance camp in the summer. Summer running is probably the most important phase of our training; all of our state qualifiers this year were enrolled. Thanks again to all the athletes and families for an elite season! #runhxc #beelite
